HONORARY JUDGES

ADULT VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are required to complete an application and criminal background search.
- Respondent Advocate: Assigned to individual Respondent to guide them through the process of accomplishing program requirements and disposition issued by a Jury of Peers. Monitor progress through weekly telephone report calls, Street Law Workshop participation, attend hearing as an advocate and document progress through case notes over 60-90 days.
- Jury Monitor: Attend Teen Court Hearings (Tuesdays/Fridays, 9AM – 2PM). When guiding jury deliberations and remind them to use the Work Sheet and Restorative Justice Guidelines. Ensure jury records their disposition properly.
- Street Law Workshop Assistant: Assist Street Law Instructor in the implementation of weekly Saturday morning and Tuesday evening workshop activity. Interacting with teen respondent participants is important, as they need encouragement and adult guidance.
- Academic Coach: Provide adult guidance and tutoring for Respondents to enhance their academic success. Scheduling these 1 to 2 hour weekly sessions can be altered, but most are conducted Saturday mornings from 10 AM to 12 Noon.
- Office Support: Data Entry, Mailings, Routine Office Projects, including phone monitoring, client follow-up calls.
