Foster care is a service to children who are removed from family care due to abuse or neglect charges. The goal of foster care is to provide permanency for these minors, who are infants to 18 years of age. Permanency can be reunification with family or adoption - if parental rights are terminated. Additionally, movement to independent living, if old enough, is an option for the teens in our Foster Care. Foster Home Licensing staff recruit, train and license families to provide foster family care. In additional they provide support, annual evaluations and incident investigations.
